The Nectarphage is a near-microscopic insect which consumes nectar from flowers, bees, and pollen. The Nectarphage is harmless to humans directly, but is thought to pose a significant threat to humanity if allowed to breed at will. The FAHH has commissioned a study group to classify the apocalyptic threat of the Nectarphage into one of five groups:

  1. Benign : Individuals will reproduce and flourish but cause negligible damage to humanity/world. Some developing countries may sustain modest but acceptable losses.
  2. Threat, Class I : Population will increase exponentially, quickly exhausting world-wide nectar reserves. Panic will arise in Nectarphage groupings and individuals will develop interest in human population for sustenance. Human losses are expected not to exceed 4 percent per year.
  3. Threat, Class II : Nectarphage populations will systematically attack and consume populations in Asia, Africa, and Australia. Mass panic will erupt in Europe and S. America.
  4. Total Annihilation, Class I : Nectarphage plumes will develop rapidly over the entire planet. Riots will turn from unruly to cannibalistic within days of Nectarphage invasions. Humans will offer fellow humans to Nectarphage groupings as barter for their own lives. Nectarphage colonies will implant in major population centers throughout the planet and receive offerings hungrily, yielding no mercy or consideration to offerers. Over the course of roughly 15 years, humanity will be brought to its trembling knees before the insatiable appetite of the Nectarphage. Chaos will only be ameliorated through global mammalian eradication brought forth through brutal, indiscriminate, and irrevocable feedings. Estimates, although preliminary, conclude populations will decrease by 20-40 percent per year. Despite attempts to escape the planet, humans will unknowingly carry developing communities of Nectarphages into orbit.
  5. Total Annihilation, Class II : Nectarphages will repopulate the planet at rates higher than any prediction, eradicating entire human species in a matter of days. Few remaining humans in far-reaching lands may form religious, cannibalistic cults in which they send victim-individuals to reigning municipalities to no avail. All humanity is expected to be terminated within one year. God help us.
