Hello and welcome to my bear page. My name is Tom and I’m the primary author. I LOVE bears. Seriously. Just ask Catherine. She likes bears too, but probably not as much as me. She’s really into elephants, pandas, dogs, and other sweet animals, which is fine–it works for her just the same way bears work for me.

So, Bearscare.org is a website about many things. Primarily bears, but also some other animals. And planets. Here are some things that might be found on my website:

I would like to take a moment to encourage everybody to bookmark this site. Why? Well, think about this. You’re sitting on your porch enjoying a can of Coke or something and then you hear this screaming from the woods. As you’re wondering what’s up, Uncle Fred bursts out of the brush COVERED IN BLOOD! He says he’s been attacked. So you set down your Coke and open up your laptop and go to WebMD. No help. Hmmmm what would be a good resource for diagnosing and treating animal attacks? Oh! I know! Damn, what’s that place called? Too late. The bear chased uncle Fred and now she’s feeding him to her cubs.

See, you should bookmark this right now. PC users can cram their paws on ctrl-D and Apple users can do command-D (in Mozilla. I really don’t know how to in Safari).

  7. Update: Punky, Lucius and Jimmy are long dead. Their murderer, Amadeus, was sent to a Virginia state correctional institute (Wally’s Aquarium, Annandale, VA)
  8. They were replaced with Jimminy Cricket the Yellow Bellied Slider turtle, who we saved as a hatchling and is now a large, hungry aquatic turtle.
  9. Our three cats: Skittles, Muffin and Snickers, but not so much Skittles or Muffin because of their bad atttiudes.
  10. Our hamsters, Abrahamster Lincoln and Jorge Washington.
